INTRODUCTION
Josh McDowell: If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always be what you’ve always been
KEY POINT: New disciplines empower new outcomes
TEXT: Ephesians 4:17-28
· It is God’s grace that makes transformation possibleWithout his grace, our good works can make a corpse look better but they can’t make it alive
· Transformation requires participation
New life requires new disciplinesImportance of discipline: Restrains desire, positions us for grace, and prepares us for purpose
Impacts our words, our attitudes, our actions, our interactions
· Transformation is the product of new disciplines consistently applied through time and testing
Without time, there is no growth and without testing, there is no strength
Allowing our new disciplines to become our new habits Living Different –
Establishing New Disciplines
1. Keep Jesus at the center
Allowing our relationship with Jesus to inform our disciplines
2. Start Small
Little daily wins produce significant life change over time
3. Start now
There is an exponential nature to positive change: the longer you wait to start, the more you limit your future
4. Don’t stay down
RESPONSE: Lord, help me establish good disciplines for a good future
